NEW ORLEANS, La. – The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced its All-Academic Athletes and Teams on Thursday, Jan. 30 with Wartburg earning the team award along with six individuals being recognized.
Six is the most USTFCCCA All-Academic honorees in program history, breaking last season's record of five. This is the 14
th straight season men's cross country has had at least one athlete earn All-Academic honors.
In order to qualify for All-Academic distinction, teams must have a cumulative GPA of 3.1 on a 4.0 scale, including the most recent grading period, among other qualifiers. The Knights recorded a team GPA of 3.45 to earn the honor for the 17
th time in program history.
The six individuals who earned a spot on the All-Academic Athletes team were
Shane Erb,
Jacob Green, Isiah Hammerand,
Connor Lancial,
Eli Larson and
Lance Sobaski. To qualify for All-Academic distinction, student athletes must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.30 on a 4.0 scale and finish in the top-25 percent of their respective regional championship meet.
