Knights Set for Home-Opening Dual With Prairie Wolves, Luther Open Saturday

No. 4-ranked Wartburg College men's wrestling team will open its home schedule with Nebraska Wesleyan at 6 p.m. in Levick Arena for the Dick Walker Memorial Dual, before taking on the highly-anticipated Luther Open in Decorah, Iowa on Saturday.

Admission

Admission will be $20 dollars for adults, $10 dollars for students and seniors (65+) and free children under 5, Luther faculty and staff and students with Luther ID.
 
Tickets
Tickets can be bought in advance online or at the door with cash or card. 
 
Parking
Parking in the Gerdin Fieldhouse lot on the north side of the building will be $5 dollars per vehicle. Fans can also park in the library parking lot for free and walk down to the Gerdin Fieldhouse.
 
Concessions
Concessions will be sold in new lobby of the Gerdin Fieldhouse beginning at 8 a.m.

LAST TIME OUT
The Knights dominated in their last dual, defeating the Simpson Storm 50-0, to begin the season 1-0 in the American Rivers Conference.

Five Knight recorded pins, including, Zein Bazzi, Devin Murphy, Nathan Fuller, Greyson Gardner and Mitchell Williamson. Another two, Kade Blume and Charlie Dojan, recorded tech falls.

Not a single bout went more than five minutes.
 
SERIES HISTORY
Wartburg dominated last year's meeting, earning a 51-0 shutout in Lincoln, Neb. The last time the Knights hosted the Prairie Wolves in the 2023-2024 season resulted in a 54-0 shutout. The last time the Prairie Wolves recorded team points was in November of 2022, in which Wartburg took a 46-3 victory.

The Knights are a perfect 9-0 against Nebraska Wesleyan, a series that began in the 2016-2017 season.

The Wartburg men's wrestling program stands on the brink of another historic milestone, sitting at 949 wins all-time. With two more victories, the Knights will reach 950 dual wins. 
 
KEEPIN' TRACK ON KELLER
Head Coach Eric Keller needs just two wins to reach the 250-win milestone at Wartburg. Keller currently sits as the second-most winningest coach in Wartburg history behind Jim Miller's 413.  
 
SUCCESS AT LEVICK
The Knights sit just one win from the 75-dual win milestone at Levick Arena.
 
NATIONAL STATUS 
Wartburg has appeared at the NCAA Championships 46 times – four-straight seasons and fourth-best amongst Division III programs.
The Knights have seven individuals who are preseason nationally-ranked by the NWCA:  Wartburg enters the season coming off another historic year in 2024, highlighted by two individual national champions — including returning heavyweight Mitchell Williamson, who became just the fourth HWT national champion in program history. 

The Knights captured their 16th team national title, extending their streak to 30 consecutive years with at least one individual national champion. Wartburg's national championship squad scored 83.5 points behind just six qualifiers. 
 
PICKED AS PRESEASON FAVORITE
Wartburg was picked to win the American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) with eight first-place votes. The Knights have won five-straight conference titles – 42 total.
