DECORAH, Iowa -- The No. 4 Wartburg men's wrestling team turned in a balanced effort at the Luther College Open, highlighted by a trio of top-three finishes in the Elite division and a runner-up showing in Silver competition. 

Leading the way was Charlie Dojan, who dominated the Elite 157 bracket on his way to an individual title. After receiving an opening-round bye, Dojan rolled through the field with two tech falls and a pin before earning a 2-0 decision in the semifinals. He capped his day by shutting out Loras' Eric Kinkaid in a 10-0 major decision to secure first place. 

Wartburg also placed two more wrestlers inside the top three at 157 lbs. Caleb Olson claimed third place following a strong run that included a first-period fall, a tech fall, and a sudden-victory win in the quarterfinals. He rebounded in the consolation bracket with a no-contest advancement and an 8-4 win over Iowa's Isaiah Fenton to finish third. Anthony Ulaszek added three falls on the front side of the bracket before finishing his day in the consolation rounds. 

At 165 lbs., Carter Martinson delivered a fifth-place performance in the Elite division. Martinson opened with a pair of dominant wins - a 7-2 decision and a 21-6 tech fall—and added an 11-7 victory in the quarterfinals before battling through the backside to secure a podium finish. 

Wartburg found additional success in the upper weights as Cal Dorota captured third place at Elite 197. Dorota advanced with an early fall and a 7-4 quarterfinal decision, ultimately claiming third via medical forfeit. 
A standout tournament also came from Kade Blume, who finished as the runner-up at Elite 141. Blume surged to the title match with a fall and back-to-back tech falls, followed by a 2-0 decision in the semifinals. He closed his day with a second-place finish against Iowa's Kale Petersen. 

Two more Knights reached the podium at 174 lbs. Mike Slade wrestled his way to sixth in the Elite division, posting five straight consolation wins - including victories over teammates Carson Martinson and Hesston Johnson—before finishing sixth via no contest. Hesston Johnson earned eighth at the same weight class behind a tech fall and a major decision. 

In Silver competition, Angel Zamora highlighted Wartburg's efforts with a runner-up finish at 174 lbs., earning two falls and a semifinal decision before taking second. Riley Brunson added another runner-up placement, finishing second at Silver 149 after a run that included a tech fall and two decision victories. Syler Zdanczewicz placed sixth in the Silver 165 bracket, collecting two tech falls and two pins in a strong consolation run.
