WAVERLY, Iowa- The Wartburg men's golf team tees off their spring season Mar 22 (Sat) - Mar 23 (Sun) in Peoria, Illinois. The meet will be played at Weaver Ridge Golf Course. 

Last Season
Wartburg placed fifth in the American Rivers Conference Championships in Des Moines, Iowa with 947 total team points over the three-day event. Tucker Kinney earned All-Conference honors from last year's campaign. Josh Nichols was named a Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar, which was the first Knight named since 2010. In addition, Nick Lechtenberg will return for his fifth-year to help lead the Knights.

Season Outlook 
The Knights will seek contributions from younger members of the program.

"Our roster this year is unique. We have three fifth-year seniors, two seniors, and then we have some young guys in our program looking to find their way. This fall was a good opportunity to get some experience for those younger guys in some of the events we played," said head coach Jason Steege at media day.



The depth on this year's team brings excitement towards the direction of the program. "I think that the competition side of things is most important. For our guys to compete at the highest level, we need to have depth in competition in our program," said Steege.
