WAVERLY, Iowa—Massoma (Moe) Endene will compete for the United States at the U23 Pan-American Wrestling Championships in freestyle at 97 kg in Queretaro, Mexico on Saturday, April 12.
Endene is a three-time NCAA Division III National Champion at 197 lbs., won the 2024 PanAm Championship at 97 kg, and the U23 2024 team trials. He competed at the U23 World Championships in freestyle at 97 kg Oct. 26-27, 2024 in Tirana, Albania.He has wrestled in five freestyle tournaments in five years, so he's newer to the discipline.
Per USA Wrestling's website, the U23 Pan American Championships will serve as the qualifying event for the 2025 Junior Pan American Games in Asunción, Paraguay, in August for the Olympic weights in all three styles. The top eight finishers will qualify their country at the weight for the Junior Pan American Games, which will be a U23 age-group tournament.
Saturday sees men's freestyle competition with a 10 a.m. start time with the finals set for 5 p.m.
