Men's Wrestling American Rivers Conference

Endene, Williamson, Keller headline conference honors

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa-- The American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) announced today its 2024-25 All-Conference Wrestling Team and major award winners. Headlining the announcement as American Rivers Conference Most Valuable Performer are Massoma Endene and Mitchell Williamson. Wartburg College Head Coach, Eric Keller, was voted A-R-C Coach of the Year.

This marks the third-straight honor for Endene and first for Williamson. This is the fourth-straight and ninth overall honor for Keller.

The 30-member team is composed of the top-three A-R-C place-winners at the NCAA Division III Region VI Regional Championship. The wrestler or wrestlers who finished highest at the NCAA Championships are deemed American Rivers Conference Most Valuable Performer(s), while Rookie and Coach of the Year are voted on by the league's head coaches.

Co-Most Valuable Performer - Massoma Endene, Grad., 197lbs., Wartburg College
Endene concluded his third season at Wartburg as the 197-pound weight class National Champion for the third consecutive year. The No. 1-seed at the national tournament earned a first-round bye at the championship and when he stepped foot on the mat for the second round he made his statement quickly with a fall in 3:17. In the quarterfinal round, Endene picked up a tech fall in 1:38 and a major decision, 10-1, victory in the semifinal round. He concluded his championship with a major decision, 11-3, over the No. 2-seeded wrestler in the bracket. Endene is the fourth three-time national champion in Wartburg program history.

Co-Most Valuable Performer - Mitchell Williamson, Jr., 285lbs., Wartburg College
Williamson rose to the occasion for the Wartburg College Knights when it mattered most, on the biggest stage. He entered the championship unseeded and ended the championship standing atop the podium to push Wartburg to their 16th team national title. In his opening round, he took down the six-seeded wrestler by a 5-1 decision. In his second round at the championship, Williamson earned a tech fall victory over the fifth-seed in the bracket. In the quarterfinal round, he took down the second-seed to claim All-American status. In the semifinal round, Williamson pushed his way to the championship finals after defeating the fourth-seed with a 2-1 decision. He finished his championship run with a 4-1 decision, with a last second takedown, to defeat the top seeded wrestler entering the weekend.

Coach of the Year - Eric Keller, Wartburg College
In his 15th season at the helm of the Wartburg College men's wrestling program, Eric Keller was voted the league's Coach of the Year for the ninth time in his career (2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2018, 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025). Keller led the Knights to the program's 42nd conference title. Wartburg finished the conference dual season with a perfect 8-0 record. The national stage saw the Wartburg Knights show up again taking home their 16th national championship and saw two wrestlers earn individual national championships. Five of Wartburg's wrestlers found their way to the podium at the national tournament to earn All-America honors.
