WAVERLY, Iowa -- Wartburg College Athletics is now accepting nominations for the
John Kurtt Alumni Coach of the Year Award, which recognizes a Wartburg alumnus who has demonstrated excellence in coaching at the high school or collegiate level.
Established in 1962, the award honors the legacy of John Kurtt and celebrates Wartburg graduates who competed as student-athletes and have gone on to make a lasting impact in the coaching profession. Nominees must be Wartburg College undergraduate alumni who participated in intercollegiate athletics during their time as Knights.
The John Kurtt Alumni Coach of the Year Award is presented annually to an individual who exemplifies leadership, sportsmanship, and a commitment to the development of student-athletes, both on and off the field of competition.
Nominations are open to the public and must be submitted by February 15, 2026. Supporting materials may include coaching history, professional accomplishments, and notable accolades earned throughout the nominee's career.
