MOUNT VERNON, Iowa -- The Wartburg College men's wrestling team took on the 2026 Cliff Keen Mike Duroe Invitational Saturday, with Patrick Mullen picking up an individual title at 133 pounds along with six top-five finishes.

Mullen advanced to the final with a tech fall and two pins before securing the title with a 4-0 decision over Augsburg's Chance Suddeth.

Wartburg added two third-place finishes in the gold division at 149 and 165 pounds. Anthony Ulaszek rebounded from a quarterfinal setback at 149 to storm through the consolation bracket with four falls, then earned third place with a sudden-victory win over Owen Seffrood of Loras. At 165, Carter Martinson reached the semifinals before battling back to place third, closing his tournament with a decisive 13-8 win over Augsburg's Colton Loween.

The Knights were well represented at 174 pounds, where Mike Slade earned a third-place finish after advancing to the semifinals and later defeating teammate Hesston Johnson in the third-place bout. Johnson finished fourth after a strong run that included a pin, a tech fall, and a quarterfinal victory over Augsburg's Apollo Ashby.

Several other Wartburg wrestlers posted notable consolation performances. At 133 pounds, Aiden Crawley rattled off four consecutive falls to win the consolation bracket. Syler Zdanczewicz did the same at 165, capturing the consolation title after four straight victories, including two falls and a major decision over Allen Catour of Loras. Zach Weidler added a consolation championship at 184 pounds, finishing the day with a pin in the final bout – tallied a pair of falls and major decision.

In the heavyweight division, Jake Walker and Jaydn Cooper each placed fourth, advancing to the third-place match after multiple victories through the consolation rounds.
