The No. 8 Wartburg College women's wrestling team (10-1 overall) heads to Naperville, Illinois, on Thursday, Jan. 29, for a top-10 showdown against No. 3 North Central College (12-2 overall, 4-0 CCIW). The dual is scheduled for 6 p.m. inside Gregory Arena. 

Thursday's matchup marks the first meeting between the Knights and Cardinals. Wartburg has already recorded five wins over ranked opponents this season, including two against teams ranked inside the top 10 of the NWCA rankings, and owns a 10-7 all-time record against ranked foes. 

The dual has the potential to feature as many as five ranked bouts. 
 
ABOUT THE CARDS 
The Cardinals go into Thursday's dual with just two dual losses on the season, both against ranked teams – then-ranked No. 2 McKendree (28-14), then-ranked No. 3 Grand Valley State (23-21). NCC posts a current seven-dual win streak, while taking its last 11 duals at home – last defeat at home came against McKendree on Jan. 31. 2021 (44-3).  
 
The Cardinals knocked off two of the top teams in the nation at the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) National Duals with wins over top-ranked University of Iowa, handing the Hawkeyes their first loss in program history. NCC then defeated No.2 McKendree University in the championship match to claim its first national dual title in program history.
