CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa -- Wartburg College senior
JoJo Tyynismaa, sophomore
Abby Veld, and sophomore AJ Wright have earned A-R-C weekly honors, the league announced Monday.
Tyynismaa, a Tama native, won three individual conference titles at the A-R-C Championships. Tyynismaa was named the conference champion in the 200m, 100m hurdles. and 100m. Tyynsimaa broke two program records with her performances in the 100m hurdles and 100m. Tyynismaa was also a member of the conference champion 4x400m relay and 4x100m relay.
Veld, a Steamboat Rock native, won a conference championship at the A-R-C Championships in the shot put. Veld also earned All-Conference honors in both the discus and hammer throw.
Wright, a Iowa City native, won two individual conference title at the A-R-C Championships. Wright was named the conference champion in the 200m and 100m. Wright's performance in the 200m shattered the program record. Wright was also a member of the conference champion 4x100m relay.
This is Tyynismaa's seventh career A-R-C weekly honor, Veld's third career A-R-C weekly honor, and Wright's second career A-R-C weekly honor.
A select group will compete at the NCAA Qualifier in Waverly on May 8 (Fri).
