Cedar Rapids, Iowa – Madyson Mummelthei was named the first American Rivers Conference Women's golfer of the week to start the 2026-27 athletics season. She finished in a tie for second at the Kohawk Classic, carding a 150 (+6). Mummelthei's second place finish this weekend at the Kohawk Classic led to the first tournament win for the Knights Women's Golf program since the 2020-21 season.
In the first round of the Kohawk Classic, Mummelthei parred 11 of 18 holes, while adding birdies on holes four and ten. Her final score after day one was 76 (+4), placing her in a tie for second place heading into the final round of the tournament. In the final round, Madyson followed up her strong performance from day one. Mummelthei carded a 74, parring 14 of 18 holes, and birdied hole 12. She finished tied for second with a final tournament score of 150 (+6).
Finishing tied for second is the Sophomore's best career tournament finish. Her final score of 150 was just one stroke shy of her 36-hole career best score (149), which came at the Kohawk Classic in 2025. She parred a total of 25 holes, which was tied for second most in the tournament. Her average score of 4.15 on par 4's was also tied for second best of the field. Mummelthei's performance led a strong team effort to collect the program's first tournament win since the 2020-21 season. This is Madyson's second career A-R-C Golfer of the week recognition.

"Mummelthei helped lead the Wartburg women's golf team to its first tournament victory since the 2020-21 season at the Kohawk Invite over the weekend. The sophomore tied for second individually with a two-round score of 154 (+6), carding a 76 (+4) in the opening round before closing with a 74 (+2) in the second round. Mummelthei recorded 25 pars throughout the tournament, the second-most among all participants, while helping the Knights post a team score of 618 (+42) to claim the team title."
