Philip Spitzer enters his sixth year with Wartburg's cross country and track & field programs in 2020-21. He completed his undergraduate degree at Calvin College in 2014 and served served as an assistant coach there prior to joining the Wartburg staff. He competed in cross country and track and field for the Knights, and contributed to a consecutive team winning streak of 28 conference and 17 regional championships.
Spitzer ranks on Calvin's list of top 25 performances in the 10,000m and 3,000m steeplechase. He has career-best times of 31:08 for 10,000m, 15:11 for 5,000m and 9:49 for the 3,000m steeplechase.
