Dylan Azinger

Dylan Azinger, a 2013 Wartburg graduate, returns to his alma mater as a volunteer assistant for the Knights in 2020-21. A member of three national championship squads, Azinger was a two-time All-American at Wartburg, taking sixth at 174 lbs. in 2010 and fourth at 184 lbs. in 2012. He is the Wartburg career record holder with 35 major decisions and ranks among the leaders with 119 career victories. 

After Wartburg, Azinger coached at the University of Central Misouri as a graduate assistant coach, earning a master's degree in sports administration in 2015. He then went to New Orleans, La. to coach alongside fellow Wartburg coach and former teammate Landon Williams at Holy Cross High School, leading the team to a Division I State Championship in 2017, the program's first in over 20 years. While in New Orleans, Azinger and Williams co-founded Bayou Elite Wrestling Club. 

A native of DeWitt, Iowa, Dylan wrestled at Central DeWitt High School, earning three trips and placing twice at the state tournament. He was also an All-State football player his senior year.
