Elard Coello

Elard “CT” Coello is entering his eighth year as assistant coach for Wartburg wrestling in 2020-21. During his time with the Knights he has been a part of five National Championship teams (2012-13, 2013-14, 2015-16, 2016-17, 2017-18) and one runner-up (2014-15), six NWCA National Dual Championship teams (2012-13, 2013-14, 2014-15, 2015-16, 2016-17, 2019-20), one runner up (2017-18), and a third place finish (2018-19), seven IIAC/ARC Conference Championships and seven Lower Midwest Region Team Championships (2012-13, 2013-14, 2014-15, 2015-16, 2016-17, 2017-18, 2018-19). In 2017, Elard, along with the assistant coaching staff, was awarded the Lower Midwest Region Assistant Coach of Year.
 
Coello is a Wartburg graduate, earning a degree in History in 2012, along with an associate's degree in 2020 from Iowa Central Community College. As a student-athlete at Wartburg, Elard was part of two National Championship teams, two NWCA National Duals Championship teams, and two IIAC Conference Championship teams (2010-12).
 
Before attending Wartburg, Elard was a dual-sport student-athlete at Iowa Central Community College where he was part of both the wrestling and soccer programs. As a member of the wrestling team, he was a part of two NJCAA National Championship teams and NWCA National Dual Championship teams (2008-10).
