A 2018 Wartburg graduate, Tyler Lutes joined the Wartburg wrestling coaching staff as a volunteer assistant after graduation. A four-year member of the Wartburg wrestling team, Lutes held a career record of 75-23 while competing at the 174/184-pound weight classes. He was the NCAA runner-up/All-American at 184 lbs. in 2018, helping lead the team to a national championship. 

The Conrad, Iowa native was an All-State wrestler at BCLUW high school, graduating in 2014.
