Jim Miller enters his first year with the Wartburg tennis program. He has participated on USTA teams and in tennis tournament play for the past 40 years. He and his partner (former Luther tennis coach Rich Leake) were ranked #1 in 35’s, 45’s and 55’s doubles in Iowa for many years.
Miller is a past board member of the Metropolitan Tennis Association in Waterloo/Cedar Fall and was President of Pioneer Graphics Printing for 20 years. In semi-retirement, he works part-time to assist both the Gallagher Bluedorn as well as Waterloo-Cedar Falls Symphony on their sponsorships and advertising programs. Miller served as interim co-executive director of the symphony for two years.

He is known for his networking and years of relationships with community partners. For over 50 years Miller has served on more than 30 community boards and commissions throughout the Cedar Valley. In the 1980’s he was a Waterloo City Councilman and later after moving to Cedar Falls served for more than 13 years on the Cedar Falls Planning and Zoning Commission. He still is a committee member of Cedar Falls Community Main Street and is also a worship music leader at St. John Lutheran Church. Miller continues to perform and entertain in the Midwest and Florida.

His wife, Kim, is a Wartburg graduate and is a professor at UNI. Miller is a University of Northern Iowa Alum
