Kelley Jacobs enters her 11th season as the assistant coach for Wartburg women's basketball in 2025-26. In her first season, she helped guide the Knights to their first NCAA post-season appearance since 2002, as well as, the programs first-ever trip to the NCAA Division III Final Four. In her second, third, and fourth seasons, the Knights swept the Conference regular season and conference tournament titles. She has helped the Knights advance to the NCAA tournament for eight consecutive years.
Prior to joining the Wartburg staff, Jacobs previously coached at the University of Northern Iowa, where she spent a total of 10 seasons, eight as an assistant coach, and two as the director of basketball operations. During her tenure at UNI, she was a part of the programs first-ever appearance in the NCAA Tournament. Jacobs assisted with recruiting, game planning, and budget management on UNI’s staff. She worked closely with academic advising to supervise and monitor the team’s academics, which consistently ranked in the top 15 in the nation.Â
A 1997 graduate from UNI, Jacobs was a four-year letter winner and two-time co-captain for the Panthers in her junior and senior seasons. While at UNI, Jacobs broke several assist records and led the conference in assists during her senior year. In 1996-97 she earned honorable mention MVC All-Conference honors, and was named a two-time Academic All-Conference honoree.
Kelley and her husband Ryan, the UNI head softball coach, reside in Cedar Falls with their two daughters Haley and Emma.
