WAVERLY, Iowa—The ninth-ranked Wartburg women’s soccer team (8-0-1 overall, 2-0-0 IIAC) defeated Iowa Conference opponent, Luther (4-6-0, 1-1-0) in shutout fashion Friday night 3-0. This marked the seventh-straight victory and sixth straight shutout win.

Senior Chelsea Frye (Waverly) got things started with her goal in the thirteenth minute as she connected on a pass from junior Kaylee Benning (Waverly).

Senior Katy Wendt (Bettendorf) made the score 2-0 in the KNgihts’ favor with her goal at 30:36.

Frye netted her team-leading ninth goal at 84:50 to seal the win.

Sophomore Monica Noti (Carol Stream, Ill.) recorded her sixth-straight shutout win in goal as she stopped all four shots she saw.

Wartburg returns to the field tomorrow when it hosts No. 3 Wheaton at 3 p.m.
