WAVERLY, Iowa—The Wartburg volleyball team (19-8 overall, 6-1 IIAC) swept Iowa Conference opponent, Simpson (8-14, 1-5) 25-19, 25-9, 25-18 Wednesday night.

Junior Britlyn Sieck (Fayette) led the squad with her 11 kills and sophomore Kelly Niemann (Fredricksburg) nearly had double digits with nine kills.

Classmate Ramey Sieck (Fayette) had a double-double with her 28 assists and 13 digs. She also added five kills on the night.

Sophomore Marissa Shinstine (Tripoli) added 12 digs and freshman Bailey Wilson (West Des Moines) had three service aces.

The Knights’ defense held the Storm to a .089 hitting percentage and outblocked them (8-3).

The Orange and Black are off from competition this weekend and return to the court Monday on the road against William Jewell at 7:30 p.m.
