INDIANOLA, Iowa --Wartburg (6-6 overall, 5-3 IIAC) defeated Iowa Conference opponent, Simpson (7-6, 3-5) Sunday 7-2

In singles play, senior Lindsay Greiner (Boone) defeated Mikayla Struebing 6-3 and 6-1 at the top spot. junior Claire Evans (Alden) beat Tiffany Bost 6-1 and 6-1 at No. 2 while junior Jenny Dallenbach (Decorah) beat Allison Anderson 6-3 and 6-4 at No. 3.

Senior Leanna Jenkins (Muscatine) fell 6-2 and 6-1 at No. 4 and sophomore Jessica Behrer (Urbandale) defeated Lynae Gruber 6-2, 6-9 and 10-5 at No. 5

Junior Brita Jensen (Richfield, Minn.) rounded out the competitors and defeated Lauren Schemmel 6-0 and 6-2.

In doubles play, Greiner/Dallenbach fell 8-5 at the No. 1 postion.

Evans/Jenkins won 8-0 at No. 2 and Jensen/Michelle McKenze won 8-6 at the third spot.

The Knights return to the court Friday at the Iowa Conference Championships.
