Knights Travel to Rock Island for Weekend Clash

WAVERLY, Iowa-- The Wartburg volleyball team (20-8 overall) will be traveling to Rock Island, Illinois for two matches at the Augustana (IL) Triangular. The Orange and Black will play William Penn Saturday at 1 p.m. followed by a match against Webster at 3 p.m.

A Look at the Field:

Wartburg: The Knights are led by junior outside hitter, Britlyn Sieck (Fayette) with her 384 kills, (3.2 per set), hitting percentage of .281 and ten service aces.

Sophomore Ramey Sieck (Fayette) leads the team in sets with 968, (8.07 a set), she also has 167 kills on the year and 34 service aces. Other players making big contributions include: freshman Bailey Wilson (West Des Moines) who has 217 kills, (1.81 a set), .298 hitting percentage and 29 services aces. Sophomore Kelly Neimann (Fredricksburg) is the third player on the team with over 200 kills on the season. Kelly has 206 kills this season, (1.84 a game), a hitting percentage of .325 and 19 service aces this season.

Junior Monique Davisson (Cedar Rapids) is close to 200 kills on the season, with 197, (2.03 a set). Senior Kamille Van Natta (Readlyn) has 175 kills, (1.46 a set) and 28 service aces this season and 303 digs. Sophomore Marissa Shinstine (Tripoli) leads the team in digs with 389, (3.24 a set). Senior Nicole Beer (Boone) also has over 300 digs with 302 (2.63 a set) on the season.

William Penn (18-19): Lacey Taylor leads her team with 409 kills on the season, 41 serrvice aces and is second on the team with 445 digs. Senior Brittany Rohling also has over 300 kills on the season with 318 and 63 digs this season.  Sophomore  Alanna Connors leads the team in digs this season with 531.

Webster (12-5): The Gorlocks have two players with over 100 kills on the season. Freshman Jenny Howard leads the team with 179 kills and classmate Jordan Vehlewald follows with 129 kills this season. Freshman Allie O’Toole leads the team in sets with 334. Howard and Vehlewald also lead the team in digs with 215 and 199, respectively.
