DUBUQUE, Iowa --Head coach Jennifer Walker recorded her 300
th win for her career at Wartburg with the 3-1 win over Iowa Conference opponent, Dubuque, Tuesday night. With the victory, Wartburg moves to 17-5 on the year and 5-1 in IIAC play while Dubuque falls to 11-11, 1-3.
The Knights dropped the first set 25-23 to the Spartans before taking the next three 25-15, 25-11 and 25-17.
Junior Britlyn Sieck (Fayette) had a match-high 19 kills and .485 hitting percentage. Classmate Monique Davisson (Cedar Rapids) had 11 kills and freshman Bailey Wilson (West Des Moines) had 10 to round out the Knights in double-digits.
Sophomore Ramey Sieck (Fayette) registered 51 set assists running the Knights’ offense and classmate Marissa Shinstine (Tripoli) had 14 digs.
Wilson also led the Orange and Black at the service line with her three aces.
Dubuque was led by 13 kills from Lauren McKissick and 11 from Carly Green.
Wartburg held the team advantages in kills (63-30), hitting percentage (.333-.126), service aces (5-2) and digs (63-59).
The Knights return to the court this weekend when they travel to UW-Platteville's tournament.
