WAVERLY, Iowa—Sophomore Kelli Anderson (Cary, Ill.) propelled the tenth-ranked women’s soccer team past Iowa Conference opponent, Simpson, Saturday with her game-winning goal 40 seconds into the first overtime session.

With the win, the Knights move to 10-1-1 overall and 3-0-0 against conference opponents and the Storm now stand at 8-4-2 and 2-2-0.

Amber Johnson put Simpson on the board with her sixth goal of the year at 10:37.

Senior Katy Wendt (Bettendorf) evened the score with her successful penalty kick at 31:48.

The score remained 1-1 through the end of regulation to send the game into overtime.

Anderson connected on a pass from senior Jess Macauley (Cedar Rapids) to seal the win for the Orange and Black.

Wartburg returns to action Wednesday on the road against IIAC opponent, Loras at 6 p.m.
