WAVERLY, Iowa -- The ninth-ranked Wartburg women’s soccer team (15-1-2) hosts Simpson (13-5-2) in the second round of the Iowa Conference Tournament Wednesday at 7 p.m.
The Knights received the No. 2 seed and a first-round bye while Simpson, the No. 3 seed defeated Central 2-0 in the first round this past Saturday.
The winner of tomorrow's game will advance to the Championship Game Saturday and will face the winner between No. 1 Loras/No. 4 Luther.
This marks Wartburg’s 12
th overall and 11
th consecutive appearance in the tournament.
Earlier this season, the Knights won 2-1 in overtime as Anderson scored the game-winner 40 seconds into the overtime session.

The Teams:
Wartburg: Senior Chelsea Frye (Waverly) leads the team with her 28 points and 14 goals. Bettendorf natives sophomore Anna Aquino and senior Katy Wendt follow closely behind with 23 and 22 points, respectively.
Junior Kelli Anderson (Cary, Ill.) and sophomore Rachel Torry (Urbandale) round out the players in double digits with 15 and 12, respectively.
Sophomore goalkeeper Monica Noti (Carol Stream, Ill.) has eight shutout wins in her 1393 minutes of work in the net.
Simpson: Katherine Bird leads the Storm with her 24 points (eight goals and seven assists). Nicole Dillenburg has 21 points (eight goals, five assists) and Amber Johnson has 16 points (seven goals, two assists). Nicole Pirie and Lacey Davis complete those in double-digits with 15 and 10 points, respectively.
Megan Petersen has three shutouts in goal.
