Men to Host Storm Saturday

WAVERLY, Iowa – The Wartburg men’s asketball team will look to get back on the winning track with the Storm of Simpson travel to Waverly for a Saturday afternoon contest. Tip-off is set for 4 p.m.

A Look at the Teams:
Wartburg:
The Knights come into the contest after falling to Luther Wednesday, 61-55, in their IIAC opener.
 
Senior Jordan Sathoff (Packwood) has been the heart and soul of the Knights offensive attack so far this season. Sathoff leads the team with 16.7 points/game. Sathoff also leads the team on the boards, averaging 6.3 rebounds a game.
 
Sophomore Thomas Perkins (Sun Valley, Nev.) has been the deep threat for the Knights this season. Perkins leads the team in 3-PT FG made (12), 3-PT FG % (.667), and is second on the team in field goal percentage (.615). Perkins is also second on the team in scoring, averaging 8.0 points a contest.
 
Junior Mitchell Murphy (Cresco) continues to run an effective point guard, racking up 3.8 assists per game.
 
Simpson:
The Storm come into Saturday’s ballgame off a 67-50 win over the Cornell Rams. In the contest, Junior Elijah Knox led the Storm in scoring, going for 12 points and three assists.
 
On the season, Senior Zack Barragan is leading the team in scoring, averaging 15.6 points per game. He also leads the team in 3-point shooting, averaging 36.1% from beyond the arch. Elijah Knox is also among the team leaders in scoring, averaging 11.6 points a night, while shooting a strong 48.9% from the floor.
 
The Storm also bring a strong presence inside in the form of 6-8 Cornelius Mosby. Mosby leads the team in rebounds, pulling down 10.8 per game while averaging 8.2 points a game.
