Boxscores - Game one/game two

DECORAH – The sophomore duo of outfielder Linnea Haler (Hastings, Minn.), and pitcher Janelle Schneiderman (West Burlington) topped individual efforts for Wartburg College against Luther April 13.

Haler ended up three-for-four at the plate in the twinbill against the Norse. Her three singles led a five-hit output for Coach Kara Kehe’s squad (8-21, 0-8 IIAC) during 17-0 and 10-0 losses. Sophomore infielder/pitcher Samantha Kuntzelman (Leaf River, Ill.), and junior outfielder Lynn Heitkamp (Galena, Ill.), also added safeties. On the mound, Schneidermann struck out four in two and a third innings as part of a game two start.

Wartburg’s league road swing continues with a 2 p.m. doubleheader at Cornell College in Mount Vernon Saturday, April 15.

NOTES – Haler’s offensive production rose her batting average 28 points (.229-.257). … Heitkamp hammered her team-leading seventh double of the season in the nightcap. She remains the squad leader in average (.410) as well.
