WAVERLY – A singles win from senior Molly Eslick (Fort Dodge) and a number three doubles victory highlighted Wartburg College’s dual with UW-La Crosse April 2.

Eslick’s 17th win of the year, a 6-3, 6-0 straight-set decision over the Eagles’ Kelly Stadum, spotlighted singles play for Coach Matt Tyler’s squad during a 7-2 loss. Sophomore Claire Evans (Alden) narrowly missed stretching her number five match with Abby Tressedder into a superbreaker with a 7-6 second set defeat.

In doubles competition, Evans and freshman Jessica Behrer (Urbandale) took a win at number three. Eslick and senior Leanna Nelson (Burlington) almost picked up another point, falling only 8-6 at number one.
