Boxscores - Game one/game two
WAVERLY – A pair of round trippers from junior catcher Emily Braem (Glen Ellyn, Ill.), and sophomore outfielder Ashley Bienemann (Alburnett)highlighted Wartburg College’s season and Iowa Conference finale against Loras April 30.
The Knights, ending at 10-27 overall and 2-14 in the conference after 10-0 and 8-3 losses to the visiting Duhawks, got their offense going in the nightcap after being blanked on three hits over five frames in game one. Wartburg led 2-0 and 3-2, thanks to Braem’s two-run shot in the first and Bienemann’s solo blast in the fifth. However, Loras (14-21, 7-9 IIAC) answered the bell with six runs in the top of the seventh to seal the sweep.

NOTES – Haler’s two safeties pushed her season average over .300 to .305. … Junior outfielder Lynn Heitkamp (Galena, Ill.), closed the year as the squad leader in batting average (.397), hits (43), doubles (11), and slugging percentage (.578).
