WAVERLY, Iowa—Iowa Conference opponent, Loras (6-2 overall, 3-0 IIAC) handed Wartburg (3-1, 0-1) its first loss of the season Sunday.
The Knights fell 7-2 to the Norse as junior Jennifer Dallenbach (Decorah) won at No. 3 singles and classmate Claire Evans (Alden) and senior Leanna Jenkins (Muscatine) won 8-5 at No. 2 doubles.
In singles play, senior Lindsay Greiner (Boone) fell 6-4, 4-6 and 10-2 at the top spot. Evans fell 6-3 and 6-1 at No. 2 and Jenkins fell 6-3 and 6-1 at No. 4.
Sophomre Jessica Behrer (Urbandale) dropped her No. 5 match 6-1 and 6-1 while junior Britta Jensen (Richfield, Minn.) fell 6-0 and 6-2 at No. 6.
In doubles play, Greiner and Dallenbach fell 8-4 and Jenkins and junior Michelle McKenzie (Waverly) lost 8-1 at No. 1 and 3, respectively.
The Orange and Black return to action Saturday against Central and Simpson.
