PELLA, Iowa—The Wartburg College women’s tennis team (4-2 overall) defeated Central (2-5) 7-2 Saturday afternoon.

Lindsay Greiner (Boone) won her No. 1 singles match 6-4 and 6-2 and Claire Evans (Alden) won at the No. 2 spot 3-6, 6-4 and 10-7.

Jenny Dallenbach (Decorah) defeated her No. 3 opponent in straight sets and Leanna Jenkins (Muscatine) won at No. 4 6-3 and 6-2.

Brita Jensen (Richfield, Minn.) completed the singles wins with her victory at No. 6, 5-7, 6-3 and 10-8.

In doubles play, Evans and Jenkins combined for the 8-2 win at No. 2 doubles while Jensen and Michelle McKenzie combined for the win at the number three spot, 8-6.

Jessica Behrer (Urbandale) fell 4-6, 6-2 and 10-8 at No. 5 singles while Greiner/Dallenbach narrowly slot 9-8 at No. 1 doubles.

The match against Simpson was called off due to weather

The Knights return to action next Saturday when they host Coe and Upper Iowa.
