#24 Wartburg Hosts Coe Tuesday

WAVERLY, Iowa-- 24th-ranked Wartburg (9-2 overall, 3-0 IIAC) hosts Iowa Conference opponent, Coe (9-1, 2-0), this evening. The Knights remained at No. 24 in the AVCA Top 25 week two poll, released Sept. 13.

A Look at Wartburg:
The Orange and Black finished 2-0 on the week last week as they defeated Buena Vista 3-1 Tuesday and swept Loras 25-17, 25-14 and 25-20 Friday.

Junior Britlyn Sieck (Fayette) and senior Kamille VanNatta (Readlyn) have eclipsed the triple digit mark in kills with 124 and 100, respectively to date. VanNatta also has a team second-best 140 digs.

Classmate Nicole Beer (Boone) has a team-high 176 digs.

Sophomores Marissa Shinstine (Tripoli) and Ramey Sieck (Fayette) have recorded 222 and 215 set assists, respectively running the Knights’ offense.

Sophomore Kelly Niemann (Fredricksburg) leads the squad at the service line with her 17 aces.

A Look at Coe:
The Kohawks were also off from competition over the weekend but swept Simpson Wednesday night.

Two players, Molly Steffens and Rachel Schaefer, have also eclipsed the 100 kills mark for the season with 115 and 112, respectively.

Emily Ryan has amassed 396 set assists running the offense while Megan Barron has a team-best 20 service aces.

Brittany Shickell has recorded 149 digs to date while Steffens and Ryan follow with 122 and 115, respectively.

Record Watch:
Head Coach Jennifer Walker needs eight more wins to eclipse the 300 win mark for her time at the helm of Wartburg's program and five more for her entire career.

Next Games:
The Knights take to the road this weekend and compete in the University of Chicago’s tournament Friday and Saturday.
