DECORAH, Iowa-- The 24th ranked Wartburg volleyball team remains undefeated (5-0 overall, 1-0 IIAC) as it beat Luther (2-3, 0-1) 3-1 (25-19, 25-16, 23-25, 25-2) Wednesday night.
Junior Britlyn Sieck (Fayette) and senior Kamille VanNatta (Readlyn) each had 12 kills on the night to co-lead the squad in that category. Sieck is now nine kills shy of surpassing the 1,000 career mark.
VanNatta tallied a double-double as she recorded a team-high 14 digs in the match.
Two fellow players, senior Nicole Beer (Boone) and freshman Emily Eberhardt (Sperry) finished with double-digit digs with 20 and 12, respectively.
Sophomores Ramey Sieck (Fayette) and Marissa Shinstine (Tripoli) tallied 25 and 20 assists, respectively as they co-ran the Knights’ offense.
Classmate Kelly Niemann (Fredricksburg) had four aces from the service line and Ramey Sieck tallied two.
As a team, Wartburg held the team advantages in kills (50-42), hitting percentage (.308-.184), assists (50-42), service aces (9-5) and digs (61-38).
The Knights return to action Friday at their own invitational against No. 21 St. Olaf at 5:30 p.m. followed by Nebraska Wesleyan at 7:30 p.m.
