WAVERLY, Iowa-- The No. 18 Wartburg women's soccer team defeated Iowa Conference opponent, Coe, in shutout fashion Saturday night in the 2-0 victory.

Senior Lauren Bauer (La Porte City) put the Knights on the board with her goal just 11 minutes into the game. Sophomore Brinkly Werkman (Marion) was credited with the assist.

This remained the score until the 37th minute when senior Cathy Reiter (Buckingam) made her successful penalty kick to extend the margin to 2-0.

The Orange and Black did not allow a shot by the Kohawks in the second half.

Wartburg returns to the field Tuesday against IIAC opponent, Buena Vista at 5:30 p.m. This will also be the Think Pink Knight.
