#15 Volleyball Moves to 20-4 on the Year

WAVERLY, Iowa-- The No. 15 Wartburg volleyball team moved to 20-4 on the year with 3-0 sweeps over Nebraska Wesleyan and Gustavus Adolphus in the final day of its own Knights Classic Saturday.

Against the Prairie Wolves, Wartburg won 30-28, 25-21 and 25-10.

Senior Britlyn Sieck (Fayette) had a match-high 20 kills. Junior Kelly Niemann (Fredricksburg) had 13 kills and classmate Maddie Forsyth (Charles City) rounded out those in double digits with her 10.

Four players recorded double figures in digs as junior Ramey Sieck (Fayette) had a team-high 15 digs, freshman Jamie Farley (Cedar Falls) had 12 and Britlyn and junior Marissa Shinstine (Tripoli) each finished with 10.

Ramey had 44 set assists runnign the offense.

The Orange and Black held the team advantages in kills (52-40), hitting percentage (.292-.158), service aces (4-2), digs (70-61) and blocks (5-1).

Against the Golden Gusties, Wartburg won 25-18, 25-15 and 25-14.

Ramey and Forsyth had a team-best nine kills as 15 Knights saw playing time.

The Knights held the team advantages in kills (37-23), hitting percentage (.234 vs. .021), service aces (11-3) and blocks (9-1).

The Sieck sisters were both named to the All-Tournament team.

The Orange and Black return to the court Wednesday when they host Iowa Conference opponent, Luther, at 7:30 p.m.
