PLATTEVILLE, Wis.-- The Wartburg men's basketball team (2-1 overall) advanced to the championship game at the UW-Platteville tournament with its 64-60 win over MacMurray (2-2) Saturday evening.
The Highlanders led by three points with 1:21 remaining until the Knights made two successful free throws and Jake Reinhardt (Waverly) made a layup with 17 seconds left to put them up by one.
The Orange and Black made their free throws down the stretch to seal the win.
Three Wartburg players finished in double-digits as junior Thomas Perkins (Sun Valley, Nev.) led the team with his 15 points, just two shy of his career mark.
Senior Mitchell Murphy (Cresco) and junior Eddie Diemer (Cedar Falls) followed with 14 and 11 points, respectively.
Senior Drew Crawford (Marion) had a game-high nine rebounds.
As a team, the knights won the battle of the boards 35-24, which included 11 offensive rebounds.
Wartburg will play the winner of host-UW-Platteville and Lancaster Bible tomorrow at 3 p.m. in the championship game.
