#11 Volleyball Wins IIAC Conference Tournament Title

WAVERLY, Iowa-- The No. 11 Wartburg volleyball team added to its trophy case as it captured the Iowa Conference tournament title with its 3-0 (25-18, 25-16, 25-18) sweep over Loras Saturday night. The Duhawks end the season 17-18.

Fans can watch the re-play of KCRG's broadcast tomorrow (Sunday) at 1:30 p.m. on KCRG 9.2.

This marked the second time the program had swept the conference titles (regular season and conference tournament) as this previously occured in 2002. With tonight's win, the team won their fourth conference tournament title in school history.

With the win, the Knights receive an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament and will find out who and where they are playing during the NCAA selection show which begins at 10 a.m. central.

The Orange and Black also added to its record-setting season as they improved to 32-5 as the win mark extends the school record.

Senior Britlyn Sieck (Fayette) moved into second on the program's all-time career leader list in kills as she has 1,110 to date. She also had a career-high four service aces.

Sophomore Bailey Wilson (West Des Moines) had a team-best 10 kills and .500 hitting percentage in the match.

Junior Ramey Sieck (Fayette) recorded a double-double with 25 aset assists and 10 digs.

Classmate Marissa Shinstine (Tripoli) and sophomore Karly Bown (Lincoln, Neb.) also tallied 10 digs on the night.

As a team, Wartburg held the advantages in kills (35-25), assists (34-24), service aces (8-2), digs (45-33), blocks (6-3) and hitting percentage (.160-.052).

The Knights will find out Monday who they will play in the NCAA Tournament.
