WAVERLY, Iowa—Iowa Conference opponent, Luther, swept the Wartburg softball team Tuesday, 8-0 and 9-0.

The first game was scoreless until the third inning when Luther got on the board with one run. The Norse plated another one in the fourth and two in the fifth on a two-run homer by Kelsey Kittleson.
Luther scored four in the sixth thanks in part to a three-run home run by Lauran Snyder.
Senior Lynn Heitkamp (Galena, Ill.) helped the Knights avoid the no-hitter with her leadoff single in her first at-bat of the day.
In the final game, the Norse scored one run in each of the first three innings to take a 3-0 lead.
Junior Ashley Bienemann (Alburnett) ruined the no-hit bid for Luther with her single in the fourth.
The Norse scored six runs in the fifth to take the twinbill.
Wartburg returns to the field Saturday on the road against the University of Dubuque in a doubleheader at 2 p.m.
