DUBUQUE, Iowa-- The Wartburg softball team was swept by Iowa Conference opponent, Dubuque, in its final games of the season. The Spartans took the first game 5-1 and the second game 2-1.

Dubuque took the early 2-0 lead in the bottom of the second and plated another run in the next inning.

The Knights scored one run in the fifth as freshman Tori Herzberg (San Tan Valley, Ariz.) drove in classmate Katie Wyman (Springville) on her RBI-single.

The Spartans tallied their final two runs in the sixth.

Alex Becker (Gilbertville) and Herzberg each finished 2-3 at the plate. Herzberg also pitched a complete game in the circle.

The final game was scoreless until the Orange and Black scored in the fifth on a passed ball.

Dubuque evened the score in the sixth and then won on a walk-off fielder's choice.

Newcomer Hayley Woszczynski (Alton, Ill.) threw a complete game for Wartburg.
