#18 Volleyball Competes in Cornell’s Invite

WAVERLY, Iowa—The No. 18 Wartburg volleyball team (8-1 overall) will compete in Cornell College’s Invitational in Mount Vernon, Iowa this weekend.

The Knights will play Bethel University and Northwestern College Friday at 2 and 6 p.m., respectively and St. Olaf and Augsburg Saturday at 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., respectively.

A Look at the Teams:
Wartburg:
The Knights enter the weekend on an eight-match winning streak.

Senior Britlyn Sieck (Fayette) leads the team with her 121 kills and average of 4.03 kills/set.

Younger sister Ramey has 287 assists to date running the offense and has surpassed the 2,000 mark for her career.

Ramey also leads the team at the service line with her 12 aces and sophomore Karly Bown (Lincoln, Neb.) follows closely with 10.

Junior Marissa Shinstine (Tripoli) has 135 digs followed by Ramey with 101.

Bethel (7-2):
The Royals are led by 97 kills from Amy Baumetz and 94 from Caitie Helle. Cierra Nickel has a team-best 332 set assists and 19 service aces.

Northwestern (6-3):
The Eagles enter the weekend on a two-game losing skid.

Kendra Korporal is the lone player in triple digit kills with 129 and also leads the team with her 3.79 kills/set average.

Krista Stoltz has 357 set assists while Lizzy Potratz and Lexi Bertsch each have nine service aces on the year.

Two players have surpassed the century mark in digs as Potratz has 136 and Korporal has 102.

St. Olaf (3-6):
Kelly Heissel has a team-high 76 kills and Kersten Bork has 280 set assists.

Katie Wolfram has 12 service aces and Kirstee Rotty has 170 digs to date.

Augsburg (7-3):
The Auggies are led by 140 kills from Colleen Ourada who also averages 3.68 kills/set. Emily McCourt has 406 set assists and a team-high 17 service aces.

Two players have already surpassed the century mark in digs as Ourada has 123 digs and Emma Sievers has 122.
