#18 Wartburg Increases Streak to Ten

MOUNT VERNON, Iowa-- The No. 18 Wartburg volleyball team won its ninth and tenth-straight matches in its 3-0 sweep over Bethel University and 3-1 win over Northwestern (Minn.) Friday.

The Knights won 25-23, 25-20 and 25-20.

Two players finished with double digit kills as senior Britlyn Sieck (Fayette) had a match-high 16 and junior Maddie Forsyth (Charles City) tallied 12.

Classmate Ramey Sieck recorded 29 set assists running Wartburg's offense and classmate Marissa Shinstine (Tripoli) had 18 digs.

Freshman Jamie Farley (Cedar Falls) joined her in double digits with a career-best 13 digs.

As a team, the Knights held the advantage in kills (42-30), hitting percentage (.230-.098), service aces (6-5), digs (67-52) and team blocks (5-2).

Against Northwestern, four players had double-digit kills and were led by a career-high 25 from Britlyn.

Ramey recorded a triple-double with her 11 kills, 52  assists and 16 digs. Her set assist mark set a new career-best.

Junior Kelly Niemann (Fredricksburg) had 14 kills and sophomore Bailey Wilson (West Des Moines) recorded 11.

Two fellow Knights recorded double digit digs as Shinstine had 17 and sophomore Karly Bown (Lincoln, Neb.) had 13.

The Orange and Black return to the court Saturday morning at 9 a.m. against St. Olaf.
