WAVERLY, Iowa-- The No. 17 Wartburg volleyball team moved to 13-1 on the year and 2-0 in Iowa Conference play with its 3-0 sweep (25-13, 27-25, 25-20) over IIAC opponent, Loras (4-7, 1-1), Wednesday night.
With the win, the Knights increased their school-record winning streak to thirteen-straight matches.
Junior Kelly Niemann (Fredricksburg) led the squad with her 13 kills on the night, just one shy of her career high. She also hit an impressive .650 on the night.
Senior Britlyn Sieck (Fayette) narrowly missed double-digits with her nine kills and junior Maddie Forsyth (Charles City) and sophomore Bailey Wilson (West Des Moines) each had seven.
Junior Ramey Sieck (Fayette) tallied 36 assists running the Orange and Black's offense.
Classmate Marissa Shinstine (Tripoli) had a team-high 15 digs and freshman Jamie Farley (Cedar Falls) recorded 12.
As a team, Wartburg held the advantages in hitting percentage (.311 vs .111), digs (51-46), kills (42-32) and blocks (6-1).
The Knights are off from competition tis weekend and return to the court next Wednesday on the road against Simpson at 7:30 p.m.
