DUBUQUE, Iowa-- Iowa Conference opponent Loras halted Wartburg's five-game winning streak Monday in the 72-64 defeat.

Junior Thomas Perkins (Sun Valley, Nev.) tied his career-high with 17 points as the Knights suffered their first conference loss.

The Orange and Black now stand at 10-6 on the season and 5-1 in the IIAC while the Duhawks are 6-11, 1-5.

Senior Mitchell Murphy (Cresco) joined Perkins in double digits with 14 points

Classmate Drew Crawford (Marion) had a team-high seven rebounds.

Wartburg was ahead 36-33 at halftime but Loras went on a 6-0 run over the first four minutes of the second frame to take the lead.

The lead changed hands eight times in the second half until the Duhawks regained the advantage at 53-52 with 8:58 to play.

The Knights return to the court Wednesday when they host Luther at 8 p.m.
