With the game tied at 7-7 and just under five minutes to play in regulation, the Beavers moved the ball down to the Kohawk 40 yard line before quarterback Bobby Brown had his pass attempt deflected up into the air and then intercepted by Coe and returned all the way back down to the Beaver 27. Six plays later, facing a 3rd-and-7, quarterback Josh Rekers found Elijah Phillips from 11 yards out to retake the lead with only 2:11 left. The PAT pushed the margin to 14-7.
BVU had one last chance to drive down and look to tie things up, but turned the ball over on downs at its own 20 before Coe got a final touchdown run with 1:21 left for the game's final score.
Brown finished the game, completing 15-of-34 passes for 216 yards, with one touchdown and one interception. Adam Cave hauled in five of those passes for 66 yards, while Jalen Henningsen caught four passes for 69 yards.
