Senior Taylor Jacobsmeier (Wapello) set a new career mark finishing 16-26 with no interceptions for 232 yards and three touchdown passes.
Brandon Steggall (Waverly) also set a new career-best with eight catches for 118 yards and three touchdowns.
Jacobsmeier and Steggall's first touchdown was scored less than four minutes into the game giving the Knights an early 6-0 lead.
Buena Vista responded to a Wartburg turnover, driving 37-yards to take a 7-6 lead with 5:05 left in the first.
Sophomore Michael Bohlke (Manchester) helped the Orange and Black regain the lead with a 32-yard field goal, making the score 9-7 with 13:25 remaining in the half.
Responding to a 20-yard touchdown pass by the Beavers, Jacobsmeier threw his second touchdown of the day to Stegall three-yards out for a score of 17-14 and helped extend the lead soon after running in from two yards out leaving the score 24-14.
Buena Vista responded pushing 75-yards and scoring on a 12-yard touchdown pass making the score 24-21.
An interception by junior Spencer Capitani (Northwood) brought the Knights to the 45-yard line where sophomore Logan Schrader (Killdeer, Ill.) found junior Donald Miller (Maywood, Ill.) for a 10-yard pass with a lead of 37-21.
BV scored its final time with 1:49 remaining on an 11-yard pass and an attempted on-side kick.
Steggall lead all receivers with Jacobsmeier marking his second-straight game of finishing over 100 yards on the ground and in the air.
Sophomore Will Jansen (Mediapolis) lead the defense with 10.5 total tackles, nine solo and Senior Martin Hyatte (Rockford) had a team-best two sacks and two tackles for loss.
Wartburg currently leads the conference in total offense and ranks 6
th in total defense.
Luther:
The University of Dubuque's offense racked up a total offense of 449 yards and scored eight of the 10 times they had the ball, leading Luther 20-56 last Saturday.
The Norse tallied 308 yards, putting together three long drives and possession of the football 33:13 to the Spartans 26:26.
Both teams were unstoppable in the red zone, with Dubuque scoring all six times and Luther scoring all three times.
Junior JJ Sirios rushed for 111 yards on 23 carries for a touchdown while Senior Josh Vaos totaled 58 yards on 14 carries for another.
Sophomore Aric Elton totaled 11 tackles followed by Junior Matt Larson and Senior Rich Vickers with seven.
Luther College ranks fifth in the conference for total offense and second in total defense.
