Wartburg Hosts #23 Coe in Battle of Conference Unbeatens

WAVERLY, Iowa-- Wartburg (22-10 overall, 6-0 IIAC) hosts #23 Coe (32-3, 6-0) tonight in a winner take all match for the regular-season Iowa Conference title and top seed for the conference tournament next week.

The Series:
Wartburg holds the all-time series lead at 29-6-1, including last year's meeting in Cedar Rapids.

A Look at the Teams:
Wartburg:
Senior Maddie Forsyth (Charles City) leads the team with 338 kills and average of 2.99 kills/set. Junior Bailey Wilson (West Des Moines) joins her above the 300 mark with 306. Senior Kelly Niemann (Fredricksburg) has 279 and classmate Ramey Sieck (Fayette) has 195 kills to date.

Sieck has 1,033 set assists running the Knights' offense and is inching closer to becoming the all-time leader in this category as he has 4,088 assists to date. She needs 115 to take the top spot. Junior Karly Bown (Lincoln, Neb.) leads the team at the service line with 66 aces which currently ranks third-best on the program's list of single-season leaders.

Senior Marissa Shinstine (Tripoli) ranks third on the leader list in digs with 1,845 to date. She needs 50 to move into second on the all-time leader list.

Coe:
The Kohawks enter tonight's game on a ten-match winning streak. Rachel Schaefer leads the team with 338 kills. Rachel Bosworth follows with 247, Brianna Smith has 240, Katelin Langel has 224 and Mackenzie Harbaugh has 193.

Alissa Wittenburg has a team-best 62 service aces.
