MOUNT VERNON, Iowa-- Wartburg split its matches at the Cornell Triangular Friday.

The Knights swept UW-Platteville, before facing No. 22 ranked host-Cornell but fell 3-1.

Against the Pioneers, senior Maddie Forsyth (Charles City) had a team-best 10 kills and classmate Ramey Sieck (Fayette) had 26 set assists running the offense.

The Orange and Black outhit UWP, .284 - ..167 and out aced them (10-1).

Against the Rams, junior Bailey Wilson (West Des Moines) had a team-high 12 kills and senior Kelly Niemann (Fredricksburg) joined her in double digits with 10.

Sieck had a double-double with 35 assists and 15 digs.

The Knights return to the court next Thursday when they host an Iowa Conference tournament semifinal match at 7 p.m.
