Volleyball Wins IIAC Tournament Championship in Sweep of Coe

WAVERLY, Iowa-- The Wartburg volleyball team won the Iowa Conference Tournament Championship for the second consecutive year in its 3-0 sweep over Coe Saturday in front of an electric crowd of 2,100. This marked the fifth tournament crown in program history.

The Knights won 28-26, 25-18 and 25-20.

With the win, the Orange and Black earn the automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament and will learn its opponent Monday at 10 a.m. during the NCAA selection show.

Senior Maddie Forsyth (Charles City) had a team-best 13 kills on the night. Classmate Kelly Niemann (Fredricksburg) nearly joined her in double digits with nine kills.

Classmate Ramey Sieck (Fayette) had a double-double with 27 assists and 18 digs.

As a team, Wartburg held Coe to a team hitting percentage of .093 and outblocked them 8-4.
