WAVERLY, Iowa-- The Wartburg men's basketball team outscored Buena Vista 35-28 in the second half of Wednesday's game, but the scoring effort wasn't enough as it fell 71-61.

Buena Vista moved to 18-6 on the year and 10-3 in Iowa Conference play while the Knights now stand at 13-10, 8-5.

Senior Mitchell Murphy (Cresco) led the Orange and Black with 17 points and classmate Brandon Flenor (Baltimore, Md.) joined him in double-digits with 10 points.

Junior Eddie Diemer (Cedar Falls) had a team-high eight rebounds.

The Beavers took the 43-26 lead at halftime and remained ahead by double digits in the second frame.

Wartburg held the team advantage in free throw percentage (.696 vs. . 522) and blocks (3-2).

The Knights will travel to Luther Saturday at 4 p.m. for their final regular-season game.
