WAVERLY, Iowa-- The Wartburg softball team dropped its doubleheader against Iowa Conference opponent, Loras, Friday night.
The Duhawks took the first game 8-2 and won the nightcap 14-0 in five innings.
The first game was scoreless until the fourth inning when Loras plated two runs and added three in the fifth.
The Knights tallied their two runs in the bottom of the frame. Sophomore Tori Herzberg stole home for the second run.
Loras scored one in the sixth and two in the seventh to complete the win.
Senior Stacey Kayser and freshman Abby Staudt each finished 2-3 at the plate. Sophomore Katie Wyman went 2-4.
In the nightcap, the Duhawks tallied nine in the first, four in the fourth and one in the fifth.
Sophomore Jess Brunko broke up the no-hitter with her single to third base in the fifth inning.
The Orange and Black return to the field tomorrow when they host No. 15 Coe at 2 p.m.
