STORM LAKE, Iowa-- The Wartburg softball team was swept in its Iowa Conference opener against Buena Vista Saturday.

The Beavers claimed the first game 4-2 and the second 14-1 in five innings.

BV plated one run in the second, two in the third and one in the fourth to take the 4-0 lead.

The Knights scored in the seventh as Katie Wyman successfuly stole home.

Wyman led the team at the plate as she went 3-3.

In the second game, the Orange and Black took the early 1-0 lead in the top of the first.

BV answered with seven runs in the bottom of the frame to regain the lead.

The Beavers plated two in the second and five in the third to seal the sweep.

Wartburg returns to action Monday when it travels to face Luther in a doubleheader that starts at 3 p.m.
